Agritourism

Part of the magic of Ziggy’s Retreat on the Hooch is the abundant flora and fauna! Our guests will enjoy the farm animals, fruit and vegetable cultivation, and precious forest during their stay.

Geodesic Domes

We will eventually have a series of geodesic domes for rent, from glamping dome tents through luxury dome cabins. It will take us a while to realize the full offering, but we’ll share our progress here as we go.

Not only are domes incredibly resilient, they’re also energy efficient. Moreover, they provide a relaxing vibe and fantastic acoustics. It’s hard to explain in words, so you’ll just have to come see for yourself!

Cultivating & Eating

We have begun planting our fruit orchards and will soon be putting in vegetable beds. We’ll be growing familiar staples and Korean specialty products, all organically and regeneratively. The food we grow will be available for direct purchase and also for catering our event space.

Gathering & Celebrating

We have begun construction on our “barndominium” event space, and it won’t be long before we can post actual pictures instead of this placeholder! We will offer the space to groups of up to 49 people for rustic weddings, corporate meetings or retreats, birthday parties, and more. Much (all?) of the electricity will come from solar panels.

Hiking & Paddling

We have gorgeous hiking trails throughout the 38-acre property, and kayaks available for paddling on West Point Lake. Our property runs right up to the buffer the Army Corps of Engineers maintains around the lake’s perimeter, and we have a permit for a path we’ve built through the Corps land. We also have a permit to build a dock, which is up next. So, we are as close to the water as you can get on West Point Lake, and our guests will get to enjoy it in all seasons! In the summer, when the lake is full and the water reaches right up to the tree line, you can go for a paddle or swim. In the winter, when the Corps lowers the lake level exposing some of the lake bed, you can hike on the flats, almost always in total solitude.
